Public space awareness:

  • Get to know your neighbours – not only does this promote a friendly environment, but also increases the awareness in your community.
  • Jog in familiar areas, and avoid secluded places.
  • Partner up with someone whilst jogging and equip yourselves with a whistle.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, something is probably wrong.
  • If you are being followed, head for a crowded place.
  • Always be aware when entering from the public space into your home environment and the same applies when you exit your home environment. Most attacks happen in driveways.
